YOUR ITINERARY

Monday | We depart the local area mid-morning and begin our journey to the Lake District, making a stop at Junction 32 en route allows for a comfort break before completing your journey and arriving at the Cumbria Grand with time to check in before your evening meal.

Tuesday | We explore the beauty of Lake Windermere on a scenic cruise. We enjoy magnificent views of mountain scenery, secluded bays and many wooded islands as we cruise England’s largest lake. We disembark in Bowness-on-Windermere, a charming enclave on the eastern shores of the lake, where we enjoy free time in this bustling town with its craft and gift shops, lakeside cafés and tea rooms. We then visit the stunning Leighton Hall, enjoy a lively tour of Leighton, home of the Gillow furniture making family followed by a delicious afternoon tea.

Wednesday | Join us as we visit Kendal, a bustling market town famous for its mint cake on market day. We continue to Grasmere, the picturesque village associated with the poet William Wordsworth, who lived here for 14 years and declared the Grasmere as ‘the loveliest spot that man hath ever found’.

Thursday| Steam on the Wild Side & Muncaster Castle We head to Ravenglass where we board the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway for a scenic round trip through the countryside, followed by a visit to Muncaster Castle, one of Britain’s oldest inhabited castle in England and explore its sumptuous state rooms, gardens and woodland.

Friday | Enjoy our final excursion of the holiday as we head to Skipton, the wonderful market town in North Yorkshire. There is lots to do and explore with its famous 900 year old castle, endless history and natural surroundings. Visit the popular lively outdoor Skipton Market. We depart early afternoon and complete our journey back to Boston, arriving around tea time.
